Terms & Conditions
The short version. VRIK is free to use. There is nothing to buy, no subscription and no in-app purchase. In return we ask you to be honest, treat people with respect, and keep your goals and posts safe and lawful. Please also read the clauses on your own responsibility and risk, and our limits of liability.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and HackGeniX ("VRIK", "we", "us") about the VRIK website and mobile app. By ticking the agreement box, creating an account or using VRIK, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use VRIK.
2. Who can use VRIK
You must be able to enter a binding agreement under the law where you live. If you are below the age of majority there, you may use VRIK only if a parent or legal guardian has read and accepted these terms on your behalf and supervises your use. We may ask for confirmation and may close an account where this is not the case. You must not use VRIK if we have previously removed your account for breaking these terms, unless we have told you in writing that you may return.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your username and password; a one-time code to your phone confirms a new phone or a password reset. Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your phone and codes private, and tell us quickly if you think someone else has access.
- One person, one account. Don't pretend to be someone else.
4. Free service
VRIK is free. We don't sell products or services through VRIK, and nothing in the app or on the website requires payment. We don't show third-party ads. If we ever introduce anything paid, we will publish clear terms for it first and you will never be charged without your explicit agreement.
5. Community rules
VRIK works only if people feel safe and supported. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully, shame or discriminate against anyone;
- post anything unlawful, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence, self-harm, eating disorders or dangerous activity;
- share another person's private information without their consent;
- post false or misleading information, scams, spam or unsolicited promotion;
- impersonate a person or organisation, or misrepresent who you are;
- upload content you don't have the right to share, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to VRIK or other users' accounts;
- create accounts or interact automatically (bots) without our permission.
You can report a post, reel or person from the menu next to it. We review reports, and we may remove content, limit features or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, at our discretion and with or without notice.
6. Goals and safety review
Goals you set are checked by our safety system. A goal that is unsafe or unlawful, or that could harm you or others, may be declined, and a person may review it. A declined goal is not a judgement about you; it means we can't support that goal in VRIK.
7. Your content
You own what you post. By posting, you give VRIK a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content within VRIK, only so that we can run and improve the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other users have already shared or that we must keep by law. You are responsible for your content and promise you have the right to post it.
8. Information, not advice
VRIK is a motivation and habit tool. Resources, tips, plans and community posts about fitness, health, money, study or anything else are general information only. They are not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making health, money or other major decisions, and stop any activity that causes you pain or harm. If you are in danger or crisis, contact local emergency services right away.
9. Your responsibility and risk
You alone decide what to do with the information, plans and encouragement you find in VRIK. Any exercise, diet, study, money or other activity you choose to take up is done at your own risk, and you are responsible for judging whether it is suitable and safe for you. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage that results from acting on content in VRIK, whether it comes from us, from a publisher, from AI or from another user.
10. AI-generated content
Some content in VRIK may be written or checked with the help of AI and is labelled when it is. AI can be wrong. Resources in the feed come from trusted publishers, but you should still use your own judgement.
11. Changes to VRIK
Features may change, pause or be removed, and the service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may change or stop any part of VRIK at any time, and we will try to give notice of major changes that affect you.
12. Our property
The VRIK name, logo, design, software and everything we create belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use VRIK for your personal, non-commercial use as these terms allow, but you may not copy, sell or build on it without our written permission. Third-party articles and media linked or quoted in the feed belong to their publishers.
13. Other users and third parties
VRIK is an intermediary for content that users post. We don't create, check in advance or endorse what users say, and we are not responsible for user content, for what users do, or for any dispute between users, online or offline. Take care when you share personal information or meet anyone you have met through VRIK. We are also not responsible for third-party websites, publishers or services that VRIK links to or quotes. We act on reports, but we cannot promise to catch everything.
14. Ending your use
You can stop using VRIK and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires, or if continuing would put others or VRIK at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and "You protect us") continue after your account ends.
15. Disclaimers
VRIK is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that VRIK will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate or error-free, free of harmful components, fit for a particular purpose, or that using it will help you reach any particular result. Content posted by other users is theirs, not ours.
16. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, VRIK, HackGeniX and its owners, directors, employees and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, income, profit, reputation or opportunity, arising from or connected with your use of VRIK, even if we were told it might happen. Because VRIK is free, our total liability to you for all claims relating to VRIK is limited to INR 1,000, except where the law does not allow such a limit, for example for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer or data protection law that cannot be waived.
17. You protect us
You agree to defend and compensate HackGeniX and its owners, directors, employees and partners against claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable legal costs that arise from your content, your breach of these terms or the law, or your misuse of VRIK.
18. General terms
- Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about VRIK.
- If part is invalid. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your account or rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor organisation.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages, network failures, natural events or government action.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts in India that have jurisdiction will hear any dispute, subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live. Before starting any legal proceeding, you agree to write to us at privacy@thevrik.com, describe the problem, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using VRIK after that, you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, you can stop and delete your account.
